01:18 pm - new year resolutions
i'm usually not one to make new year resolutions bc i know myself well enough that i never keep them. but since i'm getting a little older and certain things need to change, maybe it's time that i change too. things i want to do in 2010:
  • be more healthy.
  • use my gym membership that's been paid for.
  • lose 10-15 lbs.
  • drink more water.
  • eat breakfast everyday, even if it's just coffee.
  • no more food past 10pm.
  • cook more; learn more recipes.
  • be more studious, as in do my readings/HW on time and less cramming before tests.
  • pay off CCs.
  • spend more wisely.
  • find time to scrapbook.
  • take more pictures.
  • find volunteer/internship library work sometime this year if school and work doesn't kill me already.

11:33 pm - HAPPY NEW YEAR!
this WILL be a great year. that's the attitude i'm going in with and hopefully it will happen.

i spent NYE on a cruise around the bay and watched the fireworks at midnight. too bad i left my camera in the car... it would've been nice to have a picture with the boyfriend with all the pretty fireworks in the night sky. we must be getting old cuz i think we were ready to get off the yacht before it even set sail. lol. it was so friggin cold! and the promoters were running late... i almost turned into a human popsicle.

the cruise was interesting... to say the least. i love to people watch so i had a field day, but i was ready to get the hell off that boat by 1am since i was at docks since 9pm . i'm 5'3" and i wore 2.5"-3" boots that night... all i can say is WOW! i felt so tall, most of the girls were like under 5 feet or something... and sad to say most of the guys weren't that much taller either. i remember as we were getting off the boat, the guy in front of me only came up to my eyes. WTF. i'm never going to a party that has a san jose promoter. also, because so many girls were so short, i don't think i've ever seen so many ill fitting dresses in one place. but the pièce de résistance had to be this one girl in a long strapless red evening gown (leftover prom dress anyone?) who danced like she was being electrocuted the ENTIRE time. i think it had to do with not knowing how to dance in her heels or maybe just not knowing how to dance at all.. this sounds so mean and critical... and i feel kinda bad for even saying so but it was strangely captivating as to how awesomely bad it was.

anyways, at least now i can cross a cruise around the bay on nye off the checklist and say i've done it. would i ever do it again? maybe if i had like a bigger group of friends going.... maybe. =)

03:10 pm - after christmas monotony
the week after christmas always seems to move at a snail's pace. the short work weeks, no school = not so exciting life on lj and lots and lots of time on facebook.
when are my tv shows coming back on air??

been hanging out at the boyfriend's and it isnt' that much different. so to cut the boredom when i'm at the boy's house since he is cable-less and catching up on battlestar galactica.. i NEED to order some new books to read while i'm over there. there's nothing wrong with BSG, but i can only watch an episode or two at a time... a marathon viewing session would drive me insane.

does anyone have any good reads to suggest? i dont' think i can reread harry potter series again for a while. i tend to like reading fiction, anything from the shopaholic series to the other boleyn girl, wicked and christopher moore's lamb to the classics like wuthering heights. any suggested titles will be much appreciated!

at least there is the very much delayed christmas white elephant meet-up to go to tonight. =)
